Buzz Off Cancer

Buzz Off Meets Cancer Crush

Buzz Off Cancer began in 2018 and invited participants, or “buzzees,” to shave their heads in support of local cancer patients. All funds raised benefited the QMG Oncology Patient Assistance Fund to provide financial support for patients undergoing cancer treatment. The event was held in 2018 and 2019 but was put on hold in 2020 due to COVID-19.

New for 2024: We’ve expanded this year to include a new category, Hair for a Cause, allowing eligible community members to cut and donate their hair to be made into wigs for cancer patients.

The common missions of Buzz Off Cancer and Cancer Crush provided an opportunity to bring the two events together.

Both Buzz Off Cancer and Cancer Crush seek to bring our community together to help patients facing the hardships that come with a cancer diagnosis. By bringing the two events together, we can have an even larger impact on our community’s patients.

Why be a Buzzee?

Inspire Others

When you sign up to be a buzzee, you’re raising funds and spreading awareness for those individuals who are battling a cancer diagnosis.

Impact the Community

Our commitment shows our patients that you’re here to rally around them and support their journey. The funds you raise will directly impact those battling a cancer diagnosis by providing financial support, so they can focus on what’s most important – their health.

Have Fun

You may be doing this to support a loved one on their journey, and you may be their inspiration. Through the possible tears, we hope you can find joy in standing in solidarity.
